COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SIGN UP

The most exciting 24-hours of the year for Sacramento-region nonprofits starts tonight! Through gifts made on Big Day of Giving, Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference can sustain our life-changing programs for youth who crave connection to each other and to their communities, and for those less fortunate who they serve.

We invite everyone to stop by the Hands4Hope El Dorado Hills Youth Center from 11 am to 6 pm on May 2 to say hello, and bring your donation to spin the wheel for fun prizes!

Nine youth and adult "teams" have organized their own campaigns in support of Hands4Hope. Their stories are so inspirational! We hope you'll take the time to read some.

MEET THE TEAMS

You might have seen Addison recently featured in our White Rock Village Homework Hub video, or you might have encountered Addison at a Community Engagement Event or Committee activity... she has practically done them all! Read on to find out what she's looking forward to most in her first Club Leadership position in her senior year of high school.

MEET ADDISON

When she was in high school, Eadora participated in her on-campus Hands4Hope Club all four years, including holding a position on the Youth Board Executive Committee. After graduating, she has made time for a Hands4Hope Internship during her freshman year of college. Read on to get to know Eadora and more about her involvement with Hands4Hope Alumni.

MEET EADORA

With nearly 400 guests in attendance, the 13 youth leading the Empty Bowls Committee had their hands full at the Empty Bowls Dinner on April 6. This was the first time that Hands4Hope youth took on the full responsibility of planning and implementing the Empty Bowls Dinner in its 24th year, and by all accounts the fundraiser was a tremendous success!

EMPTY BOWLS WRAP-UP

For the 14th year, the Hands4Hope Toiletries Drive brought together schools, businesses, and individuals to collect and donate essential items to those in need. Led by the Community Engagement Ambassadors representing the Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and Placerville areas, the drive collected 7,375 items to be distributed directly to those who need them the most.

Why didn’t Sherlock Holmes pay a lot of taxes? Because he made brilliant deductions, of course! If you're still feeling the sting of April 15, Hands4Hope Board of Directors Member Blake Anderson, who works as a Certified Financial Planner at WealthGuard Advisors, has some ideas to share about how creative charitable giving can provide tax advantages while making a difference in your community.
