Annual Cinco de Mayo Carnival & Fiesta

Join us for the annual Cinco de Mayo Carnival and Fiesta at La Palma Park! The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is a celebration of culture. It will be filled with live music, dance performances, carnival rides, games, and lots of delicious food! The entertainment lineup for Saturday will be Los Terricolas and Los Cadetes, while Sunday's entertainment will be Grupo La Migra, La Sonora Santanera, and Los Recomendados.
We hope to see you and your family there! The event will begin on Thursday, May 4th and will end on Sunday, May 7th.

Don't forget summer youth scholarships will be increased to a maximum of $100 per qualified Anaheim resident through the Anaheim Community Foundation.

Tiny Tots Academy

It is never too late to kickstart your child’s kindergarten or TK readiness - the Tiny Tots Academy is a recreational program for children ages 3-5 that sets them up for success by developing the key social and routine-building skills needed to succeed. The Tiny Tots Academy helps their kids get F.I.I.T. for TK and Kindergarten by building their Foundational skills, encouraging them to Interact with kids their age, and having a safe space to use their Imagination, all while implementing classroom Traditions.
Programming runs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. with 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day enrollment options. The Tiny Tots Academy can be found at 3 locations across Anaheim: Brookhurst Community Center, East Anaheim Community Center, and the Peralta Recreation Center. Payment plans are available upon request.
All program participants MUST be fully potty-trained.

Summer camp sessions at Oak Canyon Nature Center are now open for enrollment! Camp hours this summer are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We have NINE special themed weeks planned for fun adventures while kids ages 5-12 are on summer break.
Campers age 12-15 can also join us for THREE weeks of adventure at our Wilderness Survival Camp.

Do you know how to shoot a bullseye? Join us for open-range Archery and we will teach you the basic skills to point, aim, and shoot an arrow. We will cover the correct way to draw a bow and discuss range safety. All equipment is provided.

Did you know your local Anaheim Family Resource Centers offer a free food assistance program? The program is available every week and provides a variety of groceries, including family-size frozen meal trays ready to heat and serve.

Is spring-cleaning on your to-do list? The City of Anaheim's Neighborhood Services can help you! Your neighborhood can receive large dumpster bins for disposal of large unwanted items such as old mattresses, and appliances that do not fit in regular trash containers. This program is free and available once to any neighborhood, annually. Neighborhood cleanups also help to bring neighbors together and instill a sense of community.

Anaheim Union High School District's Color and Light Show

The student work on display was selected as exemplary by a panel of judges and was recognized at the 22nd annual Anaheim Unified High School District (AUHSD) Color and Light art show, held April 10, 2023 at the Brookhurst Community Center.
The 70 winning pieces were selected from nearly 400 pieces submitted for the show by AUHSD art students. AUHSD believes that high quality arts programs promote development of student's creative capacities necessary for college, careers, and life in the modern world.
Outstanding arts programs in our AUHSD schools are essential for ensuring that all students have opportunities to fulfill their potential, including as successful artists and/or creative leaders in the workforce.
Center Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you are interested in exhibiting your work at Center Gallery, please submit an online Fine Arts Gallery Application here.
