May is Mental Health Awareness Month


Mental Health Awareness Month is an annual observance held every May in the United States. Founded by Mental Health America in 1949, it brings together advocates, clinicians, healthcare organizations, schools, workplaces, and people with lived experience to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect people with resources.

Excited to share that Jones Community Solutions has opened registration for the 2026 Peer O Award! This year, there will be three nominations. Nominees that inspire hope, work toward social and systemic change, show strong leadership, be actively engaged with their community, passionately advocate for equity, and have made an impact on systemic change.


Registration closes on June 1st, and winners will be announced on June 13th at Recovery Community Day, 3030 R St, Auburn, WA 98002.

Kids’ Mental Health—Pierce County (KMHPC) is a coalition of people and agencies in Pierce County that are joining together to address the growing behavioral health crisis among school age children and youth.



Mission.: Kids’ Mental Health – Pierce County is dedicated to developing a coordinated, responsive behavioral health system that serves the needs of children, youth, and families at the right time, in the best place, with the best outcomes for them. KMHPC coordinates with initiatives focused on young children to create a continuum of behavioral health services starting at birth.

Family Time



Olympia Wooden Boat Festival!

Vibrant waterfront festival featuring live music, artisan vendors, and hands-on experiences for all ages.

Friday, May 8 for kick-off from 5-8PM, then again on Saturday, May 9 from 10AM - 5PM for the main festival, followed by an evening block party (5-7:30PM) featuring incredible food and live performances.

Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10 (11AM - 5PM)

Free & open to the public. Come experience the magic of wooden boats and the heart of Olympia’s waterfront!
