NVCT Led Group Talks Land and Water Protection With Congresswoman Spanberger and Others in VA's House and Senate Delegation

NVCT led a group of land conservation partners on a day-long Capitol Hill trip to meet Virginia's House and Senate Delegation earlier this month. We discussed Farm Bill programs, several conservation funding initiatives, and the need for Congress to pass legislation that would curb fraudulent conservation easement transactions we see in other parts of the country. Both Democrats and Republicans alike are huge supporters of Virginia's outdoors, and we have an incredible opportunity to bring people together around this one agreeable issue.

NVCT will be working closely with the congressional delegation in the months ahead to bring more resources and more support to the rivers, forests, and natural lands of the Commonwealth.

A special thank you to Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, who took time out of her busy day to meet with us and learn more about how land trusts keep local farms and forests vibrant and strong.
