In accordance with the governor’s recommendations, all on site lunches, dinners and programs at the 14 West Hamilton Street Club have been cancelled through May 31
. The board and staff will reassess as that time draws near.
HE GOOD NEWS
unches are available for pickup and some delivery from Tuesday through Friday at the club thanks to Chef Charlotte and manager Jules Cantonwine. If you want a lunch, email Jules the day you would like and if you need delivery – we try to accommodate delivery when we can and several members, including Bruce Barnett, Gus Lewis, Greg Cukor, and Sylvia Wehr are helping with deliveries.
Lunches may be ordered ahead and picked up at the club between 11:30 and 12:30 from Tuesday through Friday. Check your club emails to see the menu for the day. In addition to meals, we have started a 14 West Hamilton Street Wine Club! As Jules has mentioned in emails, the club is organizing a special wine purchase for members with a list of lovely wines that can be purchased by half or full cases. For the next several weeks wines from the Pacific Northwest, Willamette Valley and Columbia River Valley will be offered.
If you are interested in ordering wine, just let Jules know what you would like from the current list. Orders will need to be in half or full cases. Wine is delivered weekly.
Wine purchases will be added to your monthly statement and you will be billed accordingly. Watch your email for the current wine choices and enjoy!
Ordering meals and wine helps sustain the club’s financial health in these difficult times.
The program committee, co-chaired by Jack Gohn and Ed Stringer and zoom tutor Sam Hopkins, is offering lunch several times a week, where on some days, members gather virtually for lunch and one conversation, and others where there is a guest, who speaks and then invites questions and discussion. These are a wonderful break in the day at home.
Some of our past guests have been: Gary Hufbaurer, Naomi Collins, Bettina Jenkins,
Dr. Allan Jensen,
Dr. Stu Ray and many more esteemed members of our community! We will continue to invite lunch guests to our zoom lunches.
Watch your emails for weekly updates on speakers.
The members of the program committee are listed at the end of the sidebar if you want to share ideas about future lunch guests/speakers.
The Board has formed a new committee – The Club Usage Committee IS TO CONSIDER HOW WE can make the Club more valuable for members by offering new activities and events, and how we can profitably utilize our clubhouse and staff by servicing non-members. The committee members of this new committee, chaired by Jack Rosholt, are listed on the side bar and they all welcome suggestions.

POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS
EVERYONE should keep thinking about potential new members and perhaps inviting a potential member to one of the Zoom lunches or programs.
During this time of closure, it is essential that our members endeavor paying their dues and fees promptly and fully. Jules sends out monthly statements for your convenience.
