On a personal note, I am thrilled to support and highlight other businesses. Little did I know that Inspiration Zone would win GNEMSDC's "Supplier of the Year" (see below).

Inspiration Zone Wins Supplier of The Year

Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc.

On May 3rd, Inspiration Zone was awarded the Supplier of the Year Award (category 1) from the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (GNEMSDC).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported Inspiration Zone, including our clients, past and present. It has been a privilege to provide guidance and inspiration, and we are deeply honored by this recognition of our collective efforts. Special thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield MA for the nomination.

Small Business Month

Championing Entrepreneurial Spirit

Small Business Month is pivotal in the DEI community, spotlighting the crucial role small businesses play in economic empowerment and social progress. While males still dominate small business ownership, the increasing presence of female entrepreneurs, currently at 43.4%, signifies progress towards gender equality in entrepreneurship (Forbes). Additionally, the ownership of small businesses by racial minorities and veterans, though comparatively lower, underscores the value of diverse perspectives in driving economic growth. By championing DEI initiatives within small businesses, we foster economic mobility and cultivate more equitable communities. Let's use this month to reaffirm our commitment to supporting diverse entrepreneurs and ensuring equal opportunities for all to succeed.

During Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and contributions from Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. This month serves as a poignant reminder of the diversity and resilience within these groups, showcasing their invaluable impact on our society. Let's take this opportunity to honor the achievements and heritage of AAPI individuals, fostering inclusivity, understanding, and appreciation for their vital role in shaping our shared future.

Center Focus International's study interviewed nearly fifty CDOs, exploring their experiences, defining impact, driving change, and navigating challenges in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The findings provided a comprehensive understanding of the complexities CDOs faced in advancing DEI work.
