THE LATEST NEWS ON THREE NEW MODELS
41 VALOR
I’m excited to say that the new hull prototype is in the assembly building, and we’ve started working on it. The 41 Valor will feature a wider beam so we can offer a twin Mercury 600 v12 engine package. We’re looking to debut it at Ocean Reef Club in July at our Owners Rendezvous.

The next project behind that is the 427 Nomad SE. The console plug is finished, and we’ve already made the console mold from the plug. We’re hoping to get this model wrapped up for Fort Lauderdale.
We’ve got the deck plug 95% done. The hull will probably be complete the end of next week. Look for the 51 Panacea to make a splash at the Miami Boat Show in February.

Stay tuned for more updates on these three new models. They’ll all will be rolling out over the next six months, one at a time.

CONTINUING OUR SUPPORT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
Those of you who follow us know that Intrepid is a big supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We were recently invited to tour the lab and facility of Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Thanks to Kim Sweers of FB Marine Group (also known as “the Boat Boss”) who made the connection between Intrepid and Moffitt. Amazing place, amazing people … the good they are doing is overwhelming. It’s an honor for Intrepid to be able to contribute and help in any way we can.
The second week in June, I’ll be travelling up to Michigan to the Great Lakes Boat Building School. I’ll be giving a presentation to their class and taking a tour of their facility. While I’m there, I’m hoping to encourage some of their students to move down to the Tampa Bay area to join the Intrepid team!

GREAT TIME AT THE SUNCOAST BOAT SHOW
The Suncoast Boat Show was a tremendous finale to the Florida boat show season. Sarasota has been hosting the event for over 40 years, and the setting there next to Marina Jack’s is really something special. Intrepid’s lineup was second to none, including the 438 Evolution, 407 Nomad FE and 345 Nomad SE.
The team and I enjoyed meeting you all and were grateful for your enthusiasm over our boats. We always learn something new that we can bring back to Intrepid to evolve and enhance what we do in terms of boat design and service.
Our next event isn’t until the Newport International Boat Show in mid-September. Why not plan on joining us in Rhode Island for one of the largest and most prestigious boat shows in the country?

I hope you’re planning on coming to Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo to attend the Owners Rendezvous coming up in July. This island resort features a world-class marina, championship golf, fine dining and non-stop entertainment. Plus, we’ll be debuting our 41 Valor. You don’t want to miss this celebration with the Intrepid Nation!

BOATING SEASON IS IN FULL SWING
From Florida to the New England states, from the Caribbean to the Great Lakes – it’s time to be out on the water every chance you get. Intrepid wishes you great weather, calm waters and safe boating. We look forward to seeing you out on the water.

While Intrepid has gained a lot of attention for some of our larger designs, the 345 Nomad is a smaller version of the boat you’ve always dreamed of owning. In fact, this model generated a lot of excitement as part of the lineup at the recent Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota.
The 345 Nomad was created specifically from customer requests for a versatile boat that’s ideal for both fishing and cruising. The center console offers plenty of protection from the elements with a composite T-Top with full-height wraparound glass. Plus, the 345 Nomad is available with either a front entry or side entry to the head, so you can choose the option that best suits you.

BOATING SAFETY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
With Memorial Day just around the corner, this is the official beginning of our summer season. I can’t say enough about how important safety on the water is.
It’s essential to know how to make for a safe day out on the water. Some years ago, a customer of ours built a 400 Cuddy as his first boat. He had never had a boat before, so he asked me what the best way was to learn what he needed to know to be safe on the water. The U. S. Power Squadron has been around for many years and is referred to as America’s Boating Club. They offer many educational and safety-related programs, so I suggested that he enroll in the courses they offer. He did and was an “old salt” in no time.
The America’s Boating Club app is a good tool to download and use throughout your boating season. Among other things, its features include access to a one-click emergency call, and a great template to create a Float Plan. This app is available for iOS and Android users and can be found here.

CONGRATULATION TO THE FISHING TEAM
I’m happy to report that Jim Kelly and the Teledyne / FLIR Fishing Team placed in the top 10 of the Angler Armory’s Wild West tournament in April. I was at the Suncoast Boat Show on fishing day, so I couldn’t be aboard, but the team did well.
Congratulations to the team for adding to their aggregate weight. We look forward to the Wild West Fall event in October to make that aggregate total even more.

PICTURE PERFECT WAY TO MEMORIALIZE THE BOAT-BUILDING JOURNEY
One of the things that we do for our customers is to take pictures of their new boats as they move through the construction process. This usually happens on a weekly basis and allows our customers to see how we turn rolls of fiberglass laminates and barrels of resin into finished Intrepids.
Doing this is also a way of documenting how each boat is built and becomes helpful when answering questions on how our boats are put together. In the end though, it’s a great way to create a “baby book” of pictures to document every step of the way toward the finish of another work of art. Examples of construction pictures are in the proof sheet copied below.
Best wishes to all for a wonderful Memorial Day holiday. Please be safe on the water and have a great time enjoying your boats. Keep in touch and stop by to say hello if you are ever in the Tampa Bay area.
