Sherrie shared in the last newsletter her excitement over finding her "old" recipe box. I never lost my recipe box, but I just don't go to it quite as much as I used to. Her discovery encouraged me to go through my "treasured" recipes.
Some of my favorites are from my grandmother - known to us as Granny. She wasn't a gourmet cook, but a true southern cook - meat loaf, turnip greens, fried chicken, pinto beans, cornbread and wonderful pies.
Granny's recipes were always handwritten in pencil on scrap pieces of paper and sometimes hard to figure out her strange measurements - This one made me laugh ~
"Chest Pie"
(most people call this Chess Pie)
2 Eggs, 1 Cup Sugar, Tad Bit of Flour in Sugar, � Cup Sweet Milk, Butter or Oleo size of egg!

"Angel" Recipe
I'm sure my love for games and competitive game spirit came from my grandmother. She loved to play Canasta and Rook (but never on Sunday) and, of course, Bingo every Saturday night at the VFW. The recipe that I am sharing with you is one that Granny made often for her Canasta Club. Ooohhh sweet memories...
