Vaccinations Clinics Across the State

Get A Shot to Win!

Many community organizations are partnering with Maryland Department of Health, local health departments and retail pharmacies to host pop-up clinics for their constituents and staff. While not large in numbers, these clinics provide the personalized outreach and attention needed to provide the opportunity for vaccination to all. Secretary Beatty has toured many of these clinics across the state.

Governor Hogan announced the launch of the $2 Million VaxCash Promotion, which will award $2 million in cash prizes to a total of 41 Maryland residents who have been vaccinated. Each day from May 25 through July 3, one winner will be randomly drawn to win a $40,000 prize. The $2 Million VaxCash Promotion wraps up on the Fourth of July when a final drawing will award one winner a grand prize of $400,000. Maryland residents 18 and older who have received a COVID-19 vaccination in Maryland at any time are eligible to win. No registration or entry is needed.

Children's Mental Health Art Show Highlights Young Artists

Maryland's First Lady, Yumi Hogan, presented the Children's Mental Health Matters Annual Youth Art Display on May 3rd. Talented young artists from across the state submitted artwork centered on the theme "Celebrating Through Art". The event was livestreamed on Facebook and included remarks from the First Lady, Secretary Beatty and other distinguished guests.

Celebrating Partnership at Linwood School

First Lady Yumi Hogan, Secretary Beatty, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and State Delegate Courtney Watson helped Linwood School students plant flowers around the "Hyunsu's Butterfly" statue located at the entrance to the school. The statue represents the partnership Linwood has with The Daniel School in South Korea. Both schools serve students with autism and have the identical statue on their grounds. Their partnership continues as sister schools, allowing both teachers and students to connect.

The students did a fantastic job of cleaning the bed and planting the flowers. It's a welcome sign of spring!!

MDOD Celebrates Assistive Technology Day!

MDOD celebrated National Assistive Technology Awareness Day on April 14th! Thank you to Governor Hogan for issuing a proclamation. The Maryland Technology Assistance Program helps Marylanders access Assistive Technology (AT) by providing:

Virtual AT visits with an AT Specialist
Device demonstration and loans
Webinars and trainings
AT Financial Loan Program

We've expanded our reach with regional AT centers, so there's a loan library closer to you. Our webinars and virtual trainings are open to anyone interested in learning more about assistive technology.
