WOW! While I have been a part of Landlovers for many years, I truly did not comprehend until this year the enormous amount of teamwork, effort, spirit, time, anxiety, fun, and volunteerism involved in making this organization function so effectively. We genuinely work to support our mission of enhancing our community and promoting fellowship through our philanthropic, social and cultural activities.
Many people think of the Flea Market when they think of Landlovers (which is great as it is definitely our signature event), but also remember that Landlovers, an organization run solely by volunteers, sponsors as many as four other fundraising activities during a five-month period; leads a sponsorship drive throughout the year to raise funds from individuals and corporations; organizes at least four social events and sponsors over 20 activities to give our members the opportunity to connect and socialize. Landlovers is a busy, committed and fun-loving group. Thanks for being part of this great organization.
Games Day was surely a winner! The prizes, the food and the atmosphere were just spectacular. Thank you to Eileen Yost and Patti Heleva and their team of sporting volunteers who made this event a wild success.
Please join us on The Home Tour on May 14. We have not held this event since 2019, and are extremely excited about the beautiful homes our neighbors have agreed to open for our viewing pleasure. After this final fundraising event, please come celebrate with us at our Caribbean Calypso year-end party on May 19.

What: TOUR OF HOMES
When: Saturday, May 14, 10:00am to 4:00pm
Where: Around the Island
How Much: $50.00
You don’t want to miss the Landings Landlovers 2022 Tour of Homes, Envision & Enjoy, on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is held every two years and is one of the major fundraisers for the Landlovers Foundation. The Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations in the community and scholarships and merit awards to deserving high school seniors.
Eight Landings homes, and all six neighborhoods in The Landings, will be featured on the Tour. The homes vary in décor, style and size. Each home is unique, reflecting the personality and lifestyle of its owners. Some homes are new, while others have undergone major renovations.
In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to see two lovely residences at the Marshes, one an apartment and the other a cottage. Parking for viewing The Marshes residences is in the rear parking lot of the Methodist Church where a shuttle will provide continuous transportation to and from the Marshes.
The order that you tour the homes is up to you. Just don’t lose track of time, as the event ends at 4:00. We encourage you to travel by golf cart as street parking for cars will be at a premium. In addition, please wear soft-soled shoes to tour the homes.
Tickets, which cost $50.00, are limited in number and available to Skidaway Island residents and their guests. Click here to purchase tickets. The last day to purchase tickets is May 6.
Tickets will be available for pick up on Wednesday, May 11, at the Palmetto Clubhouse, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. A table will be set up in the Palmetto art hallway, at the entrance between the two bay windows.
Proceeds from this fundraising event support the philanthropy of the Landlovers Foundation.

What: Landlovers Caribbean Calypso Spring Social
When: Thursday, May 19th, 6:30-9:30
Where: Palmetto Ballroom
Cost: $75.00/person
What Else: Merengue, Salsa and Conga the Night Away with your friends at Landlovers Caribbean Calypso Spring Social. Enjoy Caribbean influenced food stations and passed hors d'oeuvres, beach music and karaoke as we transition our board and bring this year to a close. There will be a cash/member bar with special pricing on Calypso themed cocktails. You must be a member of Landlovers to attend but are not required to be a member of the Landings Club. What: Interior Landscaping, aka House Plants
When: Wednesday, May 4, 9:30 check-in and socializing. 10 am CGL meeting, approximately 15 minutes, followed by program and Q&A. Usually complete by 11:30 am.
Where: Fellowship Hall of Messiah Lutheran Church, 1 Westridge Rd.
Admission: No fee for CGL members. Guests are welcome for $5 fee.
Allan Bradham, founder and President of Fancy Plants, Inc., will bring 10-12 popular houseplants to discuss the conditions needed to thrive and how to display them for maximum effect. Fancy Plants is a dependable source of outdoor landscape plants and maintains a lovely display of exceptional indoor plants for sale.
