DONATE HERE TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION

Sharing the love and hope of Christ while empowering our neighbors with education, employment, and crisis support.

With great joy and a heart full of appreciation, I am honored to share that our new property is officially paid off, and The CARE Center is now debt free! For over a year, we dreamed and prayed for the opportunity to consolidate and expand our ministries onto one campus. Unfortunately, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, our focus and prayers shifted, and this dream was set aside. But God! God perfectly orchestrated the purchase of this new property, and we moved into our newly-renovated campus in May of 2021. Our goal to raise funds needed to pay off the buildings and their related renovations was lofty --- $335K --- yet because of our donors’ extravagant generosity, we tied the bow on the "I Give Because I CARE" capital campaign in less than two years. Here's the breakdown of giving if you're interested in that sort of thing:

  • 13% donated by corporate sponsors
  • 18% contributed by individual donors
  • 41% contributed by mission partners
  • 28% funded through grants

Undoubtedly, our donors are among the top heroes in our mission's story. Because they care enough to contribute their fiscal resources, underprivileged neighbors are being fed, supported during a crisis, employed, and educated on a level never previously imagined possible. Plus, we have space to continue growing our impact. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Please pray for our team as we keep moving forward, seek God’s will, and aim to bolster ministries designed to share the love and hope of Christ while empowering our neighbors in Southeast Madison County. One example is our upcoming five-week Summer camps; FAQ-ed below!

Why are Summer Camps so important?

Camps provide a safe environment for our students where Summer learning loss is combated in a fun way.

How many children will attend?

300 students from New Hope, Owens Cross Roads, and Madison County Elementary Schools

What specific activities will the kids be involved in?

Morning academics, afternoon enrichment, and STEAM activities, including arts tech, stop motion animation, digital art, orchestra, musical theatre, dance, tumble, golf, yoga, soccer, gardening, stained glass, and cooking. Students will also take academic field trips to Cooks Museum, McWane Science Center, the Tennessee Aquarium, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, and the Chattanooga Choo Choo!

What would you say is the most significant need for support?

Individually wrapped snacks (nut-free, please). I've included some more details below.

Who are the heroes committed to helping make this year's camps happen?

Mission partners (local churches, individual and corporate donors, United Way, ALSDE), local education partners (faculty and staff), contracted enrichment teachers (Maitland Conservatory, Hot Yoga of Huntsville, Par Education Youth Development, Soccer Shots of North AL., BritFit, Thrive, Galaxy Tumble & Cheer), and our incredible CARE Center team.

Blessings,

We thank the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville for organizing and hosting the #NavigateHSV event for the past decade. Our Executive Team had the opportunity to collaborate and learn from 509 like-minded individuals from 227 organizations in 35 surrounding cities. It was a valuable experience for us to grow and understand how to better make a positive impact.

We are pleased to introduce Jimmy Webster as the newest addition to The CARE Center crew. Jimmy is a certified Recovery Support Specialist from the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health. If you or a loved one are actively recovering from addiction, please CLICK HERE to learn more about our Recovery Support group that meets weekly.

We are humbled to announce that we were named a Top 5 Finalists for "Outreach of the Year" at Trideum Foundation's fourth annual Grounds for Hope event. It's a great honor to be recognized for our commitment to shining Christ's love and celebrating the role of faith in our work. We couldn't have achieved this without the partnership of our fantastic community. Thank you all for your unwavering support!

We want to congratulate Jason Parks, a member of our thrift store team, on his recent achievement of obtaining his GED. As a beloved brother in mission and ministry, we are incredibly grateful for and proud of him. He is among six neighbors from our Ignite Your Potential program who received a diploma, and his scores were outstanding. If you or someone you know wants to increase earning potential by accessing opportunities that lead to a cost-free GED, CLICK HERE for more information.

Recently, Keller Williams Realty organized a food drive to aid the Food Pantry and assist those in need during a hunger crisis. We want to thank Susan Baldwin for her leadership in rallying everyone for this significant cause. Your group is awe-inspiring! If your organization would also like to support our mission, CLICK HERE for more ideas on how to get involved.

I Golf Because I CARE

SAVE THE DATE / October 13

The 21st annual "I Golf Because I CARE" fundraising tournament is in five months. Last year, forty sponsors, seventy-two golfers, and eighteen volunteers worked together to improve life for those around us. This year, our goal is to raise $50,000 with the help of 50 sponsors and 25 golf teams. So remember to mark your calendars, inform others, and leave your superstitions behind as we anticipate a day of fun and philanthropy at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
