With great joy and a heart full of appreciation, I am honored to share that our new property is officially paid off, and The CARE Center is now debt free! For over a year, we dreamed and prayed for the opportunity to consolidate and expand our ministries onto one campus. Unfortunately, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, our focus and prayers shifted, and this dream was set aside. But God! God perfectly orchestrated the purchase of this new property, and we moved into our newly-renovated campus in May of 2021. Our goal to raise funds needed to pay off the buildings and their related renovations was lofty --- $335K --- yet because of our donors’ extravagant generosity, we tied the bow on the "I Give Because I CARE" capital campaign in less than two years. Here's the breakdown of giving if you're interested in that sort of thing:
- 13% donated by corporate sponsors
- 18% contributed by individual donors
- 41% contributed by mission partners
- 28% funded through grants
Undoubtedly, our donors are among the top heroes in our mission's story. Because they care enough to contribute their fiscal resources, underprivileged neighbors are being fed, supported during a crisis, employed, and educated on a level never previously imagined possible. Plus, we have space to continue growing our impact. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Please pray for our team as we keep moving forward, seek God’s will, and aim to bolster ministries designed to share the love and hope of Christ while empowering our neighbors in Southeast Madison County. One example is our upcoming five-week Summer camps; FAQ-ed below!
Why are Summer Camps so important?
Camps provide a safe environment for our students where Summer learning loss is combated in a fun way.
How many children will attend?
300 students from New Hope, Owens Cross Roads, and Madison County Elementary Schools
What specific activities will the kids be involved in?
Morning academics, afternoon enrichment, and STEAM activities, including arts tech, stop motion animation, digital art, orchestra, musical theatre, dance, tumble, golf, yoga, soccer, gardening, stained glass, and cooking. Students will also take academic field trips to Cooks Museum, McWane Science Center, the Tennessee Aquarium, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, and the Chattanooga Choo Choo!
What would you say is the most significant need for support?
Individually wrapped snacks (nut-free, please). I've included some more details below.
Who are the heroes committed to helping make this year's camps happen?
Mission partners (local churches, individual and corporate donors, United Way, ALSDE), local education partners (faculty and staff), contracted enrichment teachers (Maitland Conservatory, Hot Yoga of Huntsville, Par Education Youth Development, Soccer Shots of North AL., BritFit, Thrive, Galaxy Tumble & Cheer), and our incredible CARE Center team.
Blessings,
