Gary Takes Flight!
Wendell Foster care recipient Gary Blair loves airplanes. His room is filled with pictures of the Blue Angels, and the Owensboro Air Show is his favorite event of the year. He dreams of being up in the clouds, 30,000 feet in the air.

Thanks to Owensboro pilot Brandon Blake and Wendell Foster's Vice President of Technology Scott Sloan, Gary's dream of riding in an airplane came true! Gary was all smiles as he sat in the cockpit of this 4-seater private plane at MidAmerica Jet in Owensboro. Gary had a front-row seat to all the action as Brandon took him on his own personalized plane ride through Daviess County.

Once he was back on the ground, Gary exclaimed that it was "the best day ever!" Thank you, Brandon Blake, Scott Sloan, and MidAmerica Jet for helping Gary achieve this dream!

The Whitesville Lions Club Chili Supper & Pie Auction Returns!
The Whitesville Lions Club Chili Supper & Pie Auction returned after a two-year hiatus on Friday, April 29th, and it was a "sweet" time! Our residents teamed up with our Recreation Team to make some yummy baked goods, including key lime pies, apple pies, and two dirt cakes. The first pie of the night sold for $2,200, and one of Wendell Foster's dirt cakes went to a lucky bidder for $500! Wendell Foster residents, John Hobbs and Mary Varley, attended the Pie Auction and loved bidding on some sweet treats. Thank you to the Whitesville Lions Club for organizing this special event that benefits Wendell Foster. We are so grateful for the support of our amazing community, and we can't wait for next year's event!

DCHS Class of 2022 Volunteers at Wendell Foster
The Daviess County High School Class of 2022 spread out around Owensboro doing volunteer projects, and a group stopped by to help out at Wendell Foster! They did an amazing job washing our campus vans and inventorying items for our Half Marathon & 5K. They worked so fast that they even washed staff vehicles as well! Thank you to these Seniors for all their hard work, and we wish you the best with your next steps in life. You are Wendell Foster Difference Makers!
