Come Join Us For Our Member Appreciation BBQ

Wednesday, May 15th 6:30 PM

You don't need to bring anything--just your appetite. We will provide many yummy bbq dishes and sides, drinks, and dessert. Followed by a brief meeting.
Hi everyone,

We are sending you a recap of the April 28th Spring Seminar.

Even though the weather was gloomy, 35 guests turned out to get pointers on getting ready for showing.

The morning session began with Judge Kail Palmer Miller, Marc Johnson and our club's Jeff Morse. Topics ranged from what is the best way to trailer your horse properly (safely etc.), paperwork that needs to be current, vaccinations, coggins test, any blood work the show requires. Dressage ring tips, executing the dressage test properly etc. Also turnout, outfits, proper apparel, gloves, color, hat size and socks.

Many questions were asked and answered.

Everyone enjoyed a pizza luncheon.

Then we moved to the indoor for the live demos. A small dressage ring was set up and we had several members drive a test. There were at least 4 levels of dressage demonstrated each critiqued by Kail and/or Jeff.
We ended with cookies and cider and announced the winners of the live and silent auctions.

The club thanks all of the volunteers, clinicians and those who donated some truly wonderful items for the auction/fund raiser. And a big shout-out to Harvey and Mary Waller for allowing us to host our events at their barn. It is a fabulous place to have our club headquarters.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the next meeting May 15th. It's our membership appreciation barbecue.

Happy Spring,
Maureen

WMI, a non-profit organization established in 2007 to promote the recognition and study of Westfield's rich history, and WHIPP are involved in the restoration and modification to the whip manufacturing building located at 360 Elm Street in Westfield, more commonly known as Westfield Whip. Their plan is to create a working museum in the historic building featuring 100 years of business records and original whipmaking machinery dating from the 1800s.
