VegMichigan Shares Plant-Based Message on Earth Day

VegMichigan participated in seven Earth Day events throughout Michigan, where we gave out food samples and shared the environmental benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. We also gave a presentation and served lunch at Consumers Energy. In total, we reached 556 individuals. We also had 50 people sign up for our 30-Day Plant-Based Pledge. If you haven't celebrated Earth Day yet, it's not too late. Think about what one action you can take to reduce your ecological footprint or make some time to enjoy the natural world.

Help End Factory Farming & Protect the Environment

Join Michiganders for a Just Farming System for our Monday, May 12 Zoom meeting at 6pm. Alex Beauchamp from Food & Water Watch will be speaking about protecting rural communities from the use of sewage sludge as a fertilizer. Growing research shows that sewage sludge contains toxic chemicals, like PFAS, that are getting into our food and water. Register In Advance for Meeting Here.

Help Stop Canada Geese from Being Gassed by the DNR

On June 1, the Michigan DNR plans to start gassing Canada Geese. Under a revised policy, geese -- and their young -- will be rounded up and forced into a mobile gas chamber to be killed using CO2 gas. This is especially cruel as geese can hold their breath, causing them to suffer for an extended period of time. Please contact the governor and the DNR Director and tell them not to gas the geese.
