May 6th is our National Day of Prayer and I am grateful that we can come together as believers to pray for our nation. We will be holding a prayer service at 12 noon that day at the Crisp County Courthouse lawn. We will have several ministers from different churches leading us in prayer. The prayer time is scheduled at noon so that individuals can meet with us during their lunch break. The service should not last more than 30 minutes. Please come and pray with us! There are also prayer services in Vienna and Byromville that day at noon! If there is a time in our nation that we need to pray it is NOW!
I am excited about next month as we will be having our HBA Summer Camps. Please be in prayer for our leaders and our camps as they meet. You will see in the newsletter the information regarding the dates and times for our camps. Please encourage children and youth to attend from your church. I also want to encourage our churches to invite families with children who do not attend church to attend our camps. This is a great way for your church to reach these families as they attend the camp’s, and each church can follow-up with those who attended the camps! We also are having a Golf Tournament on May 15th to raise funds for our HBA Camp. We would like for our churches to sponsor a hole for 100.00. The sponsor letter can be found on our website as you click on the Golf Tournament link. To sign up to play in the tournament you can register at: https://houston-baptist-association.perfectgolfevent.com/
This summer we will have another Summer Missionary serving with us! I am excited to have Christina Wynn working with us this year in our camps and with churches that need assistance. Christina is somewhat a veteran to our camp as she has served many years as a Camp Missionary. Please be in prayer for Christina as she serves this summer!
