Hi Everyone,
It has been a pretty slow and lonely month at the Center. Everyone on the executive misses you and it sure is quiet here.
Last week I spoke to Joseph Baratta, the Environmental Health Officer from Island Health who does the inspection of our kitchen. Joseph said that some other places in Campbell River might be opening by the end of May. The Seniors' Center may be permitted to open in a reduced way by the end of June.
We will advise you when we are updated. There are likely some changes coming. We might have to limit the number of people when we first open, and we should all wear a mask.
I am reaching out to the craft people to ask them to make masks that we could sell to anyone coming into the Center. We would only charge to cover the cost of our materials.
If a member would like to borrow some of our books or puzzles, please leave a message on the 250-914-4401 phone at the Seniors Center with your name and your phone number. I will call you to arrange a social distancing pick up from the Center - one person at a time.
Stay well, your lonely president
