Dear Library Patrons,

I hope this note finds everyone well, at home, and staying safe. I wish I could be writing about all the fabulous programs we had planned for your enjoyment here at the library, but sadly that is not the case. Staff have been busy providing lots of online content for you and your families, though, and I hope you have been taking advantage of it. The Children’s Department is looking at creative ways to help you “Imagine Your (Virtual) Story” including online presentations and reading challenges.

If you go to our Website, Facebook, and YouTube pages you will see lots of fun things to keep you busy. I have been putting a smile on my face by listening to the Agatha Raisin series on audio from our hoopla app. Other e-Resources that can help relieve your boredom are RBdigital magazines and audiobooks, Download Destination, and Tumblebook Library. They all have a variety of eBooks, audio, and video for all ages and interests and can be found here: livonialibrary.info/downloads .

If you are having trouble accessing your account or any of these eResources, please drop us a line at LVCC@livoniapubliclibrary.org or call 734-466-2675 and we will happily take care of you. I also want to remind everyone that if you currently have items checked out, we are automatically renewing them, and you will not be charged any fines when we reopen.

Summer Reading 2020
The annual Summer Reading Program is going virtual this year! Join us for live-stream and recorded performers, virtual storytimes, and other online content. Don’t worry, we will still offer ways to encourage kids to get outside! Register at livonialibrary.beanstack.org beginning June 1. Readers will be able to track their progress and earn online badges. Paper reading logs will be available for download on the library’s website.

Imagine Your Story
The theme of the upcoming 2020 Summer Reading program is “Imagine your Story.” Check out Carl Katafiasz's blog post about finding your story and using our genealogy resources to help.

Ancestry.com has also expanded library subscriber access. You can now access  Ancestry Library Edition from home until the end of May 2020.
Access the Library Anytime
Access full text eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and more from your computer, phone, tablet, or other portable device. During the closure, our patron hoopla checkout limit has been increased to 10 items per month . H oopla digital also created the hoopla Bonus Borrows Collection ; patrons will be debited ZERO borrows when they borrow any of the items from this list of more than 1,000 top titles (through 5/31/20). Additionally, TumbleBooks is offering FREE access to their databases until Aug 31, 2020.
