April 30th: We would like to thank the Global Trojans of Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School for representing South Florida at the 20th Annual Carlos and Malú Alvarez 2022 Academic WorldQuest National Competition held at the United States Institute of Peace this past weekend! The students did an excellent job at the competition and were able to meet their young world affairs counterparts from various parts of the nation.

During their weekend in Washington, the Global Trojans also met with Florida International University alumni at Florida House on Capitol Hill; visited the office of Senator Marco Rubio to learn about the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations; joined a reception hosted by the World Affairs Councils of America and the Embassy of Mexico; and attended a cultural chocolate festival at the Embassy of France.

The Global Trojans are the first South Florida team ever to participate in the World Affairs Councils of America's flagship national competition in its twenty-year history. We look forward to sending the next team of ambitious high school students back to Washington next year, but we need your help!
