They called me Wild.

I was willing to BLOOM anywhere.

- Natasha Head

Hello Beautiful Ones,

Welcome to the beautiful month of May. I am emerging like the daffodils into a world of Spring. I love living in a part of the world where we have 4 distinct seasons, and I love them all for different reasons. We must allow the seasons of our life to come and go like the tides for we know that change is the only true constant.

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance...a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace." -Ecclesiastes 1-3

On May 2nd we are launching our first ever online coaching program for everyone who is in interested in joining. Bloom Where You're Planted is designed to help you look inward and connect to yourself on a deeper level so that you can continue to BLOOM, wherever you may be in your life. This is Part One of a self paced 4 week program where we will touch on 4 strategic key life areas like Emotional Wellness and Learning to Unlearn. You will be able to join into the group discussion in the Village and join me for a weekly Zoom call. Part Two (4 weeks) will begin on June 19th. I would be thrilled to have all of you join me. The cost is $15 USD, but if you can't afford it right now you can send me an email and request a fee waiver ([email protected]).

Much Love,

Ella xx

What We're Reading:

The Alphabet of Love

This is a really lovely new release by my friend, Thomas G. Fiffer.

Tom is a long time member of this tribe. In fact, 10 years ago he was involved in helping me to get

Rebel Thriver rolling. His encouragement and words of wisdom never fell flat. I was lucky to get the chance to read this already, and I think you will love it. This is the little review I wrote for the back cover:

Facebook Story.jpeg

"Thomas has a way of translating sometimes hard to express emotions onto paper that is both poetic and precise. He does this with a simple honesty that resonates gently, as if he is having a conversation with the reader. As a storyteller and teacher he touches on the many facets of LOVE from A to Z in the most thought provoking ways."

- Ella Hicks, Founder of Rebel Thriver

May Book Club Pick:

The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, by John Koenig, is a compendium of new words for emotions. It's mission is to shine a light on the fundamental strangeness of being a human being - all the aches, demons, vibes, joys, and urges that are humming in the background of every day life. Here is a sample of these beautiful new words:

kenopsia: the atmosphere of a place that is usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet.

dès vu: the awareness that this moment will become a memory.

nodus tollens: the feeling that the plot of your life doesn't make sense to you anymore.

énouement: the bittersweetness of having arrived here in the future, seeing how things turn out, but unable to tell your past self.

onism: the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time.

"This book is a must read for a society that has been taught to see empathy as weakness. It is anything but that. It has led to generations of people who don't know how to define what they themselves feel, let alone others....This book is a gift. It's generous and beautiful. I hope everyone reads it." -MMS (Amazon review)

As a non-profit, we truly depend on your support. Your donations coupled with the proceeds from the sales from our shop go directly back into the development of sustainable programs to benefit our community. This includes workshops, coaching, mentoring, advocacy, and education.

‘Hand in Hand’ is a phrase that we use often in this tribe. No matter what you may be going through, you are not alone. No matter where you are, no matter how far, there will always be a hand here for you to hold. “We are all just walking each other home.” (-ram dass)
