Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band Presents “Showstoppers! A Musical Spectacular”


The Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band will present “Showstoppers! A Musical Spectacular,” a series of two live performances. The first performance will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Koreana Plaza, and the second performance will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cordova Performing Arts Center. Both events are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to support the Rancho Cordova Food Locker.

NEW! Free RCYC Summer Programs Announced


Travelers Through Time Summer Camp at the RCYC will be an immersive, adventure-filled experience where youth journey across history—from prehistoric times to ancient civilizations and the Viking Age—through hands-on learning and play. Each day blends creativity, discovery, and connection with activities like arts and crafts, STEAM challenges, reading, physical games, and social-emotional learning. Each week ends with a fun, themed movie night every Friday, celebrating their journey and bringing each era to life.

Free Pet Vaccine & Microchip Clinic Dates for 2026


The City of Rancho Cordova Animal Services Division is offering free drive-thru rabies vaccines and microchips for pets belonging to Rancho Cordova residents throughout 2026. Appointments are required and open two weeks prior to each clinic date. Clinics are held from 8 AM - 12 PM at Neighborhood Services, 2880 Gold Tailings Court.

What to Know About Kitten Season


Spring is here, and the City of Rancho Cordova Animal Services Division is preparing for the busiest season of the year—kitten season!


Between the months of April through August, wildlife and feline offspring are popping up in the most surprising situations, sometimes requiring intervention for their survival. The most common orphaned animals needing care are kittens, opossums, squirrels and fledglings.

Public Safety

RCPD Works to Stop Speeders on Douglas Road


The Rancho Cordova Police Department works closely with the Rancho Cordova Public Works Department to address traffic safety concerns in our city. 


As part of their ongoing traffic data collection, the Public Works Department recently conducted a survey on Douglas Road and noticed a number of speeders. The RCPD Traffic Unit responded with enforcement actions. A number of speeders were stopped and cited for violating the speed limit on Douglas Road, including one who was traveling at 96 MPH.

Memorial Day Student Art Contest


Create and submit 2-D art that captures the beauty and significance of the American flag to enter the contest! This Student Art Contest event is open to all students in K-12. The top 10 selections will be awarded $25 gift cards and a Rancho Cordova jigsaw puzzle. Entries may be dropped off at the MACC at 10191 Mills Station Road during regular business hours through May 16.

Nationwide, Memorial Day marks the kick-off of America 250. The Memorial Day Observance, put on by the Cordova Community Council, will include a moving musical tribute and recognition ceremony for Memorial Day, staged at the beautiful Cordova High School Performing Arts Center.

SacRT Blue Line Service Disruptions Scheduled in May


Starting Thursday, May 7, 2026, SacRT will begin construction on two stations in the south area of the Blue Line.


A bus bridge (shuttle buses) will replace train service between 47th Avenue Station and Franklin Station from Thursday, May 7 through Friday, May 22, 2026. Closed stations include Florin, Meadowview and Morrison Creek.
