FREE COVID-19/No Symptom Testing Now Available
Anyone 18 years or older living in Sacramento County can receive free testing for COVID-19--even if they have no symptoms--simply by completing the screening survey . Once the survey is completed, participants will be eligible for an appointment at the Mobile Testing Site at Cal Expo. Learn more.
Great Plates Delivers in Rancho Cordova
Great Plates is a new program created by Governor Newsom and implemented by the City of Rancho Cordova that provides seniors and those vulnerable to COVID-19 with three free nutritious meals delivered daily. This new program is a great way to get healthy food during this current stay-at-home order. Applicants must apply for this program by May 31.   Learn more.
Bike Month Has Gone Virtual
May is Bike Month, and this year it has gone virtual! Celebrate Bike Month in Rancho Cordova along the 26 miles of beautiful bike and pedestrian trails, including six miles along the American River Parkway.   • Last month, Cordova High School (CHS) students, Angela Dong and Stevan Trinh, won the Instructional 9-12 SEVA Award from the Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium (SECC) for their video “Authentic Dragon Tempura.” Learn more.
  • In an effort to thank parents who have recently been tasked with helping their children continue to learn from home while the stay-at-home orders are in place, St. John Vianney School (SJV) made a video featuring SJV staff thanking them during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Learn more.

Rancho Cordova Welcomes New Chief of Police
The City of Rancho Cordova is proud to announce the appointment of Kate Adams as its new Rancho Cordova Chief of Police. Adams, a Sheriff’s Captain with 25 years of experience with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, fills the role vacated by former Chief of Police Chris Pittman. Learn more.
May Is Bicycle Safety Month
May is Bicycle Safety Month, and the Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) is offering tips to encourage walkers, drivers and bikers to look out for one another and safely share the road. Bicyclists must follow the same rules of the road as drivers, including stopping at stop signs and yielding to pedestrians. Help make our community safer. Learn more.
Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive Interchange Improvements
Construction on Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive Interchange Improvements continues. This project will add an additional lane on Zinfandel Drive over Highway 50, modify the highway entrance and exit ramps, add bicycle lanes and modify traffic signals.  Final construction includes landscaping and fencing. The project is anticipated to be completed by June 2020, weather permitting. Learn more
Folsom Boulevard Beautification and Enhancement Project
The final phase of the Folsom Boulevard Beautification and Enhancement Project is underway. This phase will provide improved aesthetics and safety features along Folsom Boulevard from Bradshaw Road to Horn Road and Kilgore Road to Sunrise Boulevard. Storm drain installation is complete and curb and gutter installation is complete from Bradshaw Road to Horn Road. Grading will be ongoing from Kilgore Road to Sunrise Boulevard. The project will be completed by October 2020, weather permitting . Learn more.
Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation Project
The Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation Project is underway. This project will rehabilitate Sunrise Boulevard between Folsom Boulevard and White Rock Road and along Citrus Road between Sunrise Boulevard and Trade Center Drive. Improvements will include pavement rehabilitation, new streetlights, landscaped medians, sidewalk widening, bike lanes, drainage facilities and signal upgrades.
