Hello Trinity Church Community!
The Easter Season has arrived! The high-energy services we had for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday were wonderful to experience. The pews were filled with people and the room was filled with music and God’s message of love. I hope all who shared those experiences feel as rejuvenated as I do.
I want to give a huge thank you to Pam Jones for filling in for me, as well as the music ensembles that played for services in April. The Worship Band played for its first Communion Service, the Hand Bell Choir performed a lively piece on Palm Sunday that made everyone bring their “A-game”, and the choir’s Easter Anthems were so powerful that people are still commenting on the positive quality of presentation and sound! I hope everyone is enjoying their well-deserved time off from rehearsals.
The Adult Voice Choir and Worship Band will resume their weekly rehearsals this month to prepare music for Late May and June. Members should have received an email for those details. The Hand Bell Choir is on hiatus while the Hand Bells, the instruments, are sent off for refurbishment and repair. We are looking forward to their return in early Summer.
Take a look at what musical happenings are planned for the Month of May:
- May 4th - Hymn selections supporting “Fresh Start” and “Communion” Themes, as well as a vocal solo from myself.
- May 11th - Fun and energetic music in honor of Faith Formations Sunday, plus music & movement time after the service with Mr. Scott!
- May 18th - Music selections that will bring a modern Praise & Worship feel.
- May 25th - Special Music provided by the Adult Voice Choir
Starting this month, I am planning to resume the use of Song of the Month and Sung Benediction in our weekly services. The Song of the Month for May will be “My Life Flows On”, #619 in Chalice Hymnals (Listen HERE), and our Sung Benediction for May will be “Create in Me”, #519 in Chalice Hymnals (Listen HERE).
As the Spring Season rolls in and brings with it new life and growth, let us also look for opportunities for new beginnings and spiritual growth in our daily lives: try something new. introduce yourself to a neighbor you haven’t met, make a donation of time, money, or talents, etc. Any act of goodness has a positive effect on the world around it. We can make it a kinder place one small (or big) act at a time!
Until We Meet Again,
Find God in the Music,
Scott Arnold (he/him)
Minister of Music

The May Breakfast Fellowship meeting will be on May 17 at 8:30 AM.
This month, I want to talk about baptism. It seems like a rather obvious topic but in the many years we’ve had Breakfast Fellowship, we’ve never talked about baptism.
We’ll talk about the history, the meaning, the differences in baptism customs, and then what other cultures and religions have a baptism ritual.
Let’s gather on May 17th at 8:30 AM for breakfast, fellowship and discussion.
For more information or to add yourself to the Saturday Breakfast Fellowship email list, please contact Tom at tomdan4@gmail.com

Trinity Church’s ONA/Social Justice Team invites you to join us for a sign rally in front of the church on Saturday May 3rd & May 17th from 10:30-12:00PM, weather permitting.
The purpose is to send positive messages to the community that align with our faith values!
We can’t send support messages for candidates nor political parties. We want to maintain our nonprofit status. Appropriate Examples: “Trinity Church is here for You”, “Stop Hate, Go Love”, “God is Love”. Possible ideas for new signs: “No More War!”, ”LGBTQ Rights Are Human Rights!”

Kindness Event:
Chili Cook Off was a huge success thanks to your generous giving and your work during the event. We showed kindness to our community members, friends and family as well as to the Whitney Place staff.
We also had some first time visitors experiencing Trinity's hospitality. I heard the laughter and felt the spirit during our time together!
Be sure to write your message to the seniors of Whitney Place on our beautiful art mural before we bring it to them!

STEEPLE AND EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE UPDATE
As anyone passing by the church can see, Painters Pride has begun painting the exterior wood surfaces below the steeple. Trees next to the building were pruned, and Pete Carlsen represented the Task Force in coordinating with the painters. It is expected to take three weeks to complete.
The Task Force continues to explore how best to address the maintenance and restoration of the steeple.
If you have any questions or suggestions for the Task Force, please contact one of its members: Pete Carlsen, Jean Leif, Tom Danforth, Wally Corwin, Cheryl Silverberg, Beth Buckley or Tim Cashmore.

We meet once a month at Trinity with knitting/crocheting hands to make shawls for our members in need of a “hug.” Blessed handmade items are delivered right to their home to warm the heart and soul. I have a simple knit pattern that can be made easily. It comes along with a card of encouraging words.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday May 28th, 1 to 2 pm. All are welcome!
Our shawls and blankets have become quite popular and we need to keep on making more to comfort our members in need and the fellowship is great too!
Anyone interested in meeting over a cup of tea just once a month for one hour for a rewarding mission please contact Linda F. at: lmferraro25@gmail.com

Did any one go home with the wrong black women's jacket? I have one that has the Olympic symbol of circles on it and my plain black jacket is missing. If you mistakenly took mine, I’d appreciate a swap out of the two.
