World Refugee Day, established by the United Nations, is observed on June 20 each year. This year, with leadership from the St. Joseph County Public Library, Neighbor to Neighbor and the City of South Bend, an event and exhibit will launch on June 20.
Stay tuned for details, but there will be a speaker on the evening of the 20th, screening of the movie 'We Are All Refugees,' and a beautiful exhibit featuring stories from new and longer term refugees and asylees now residing in Greater South Bend. Those interviewed come from every inhabited continent.
URC thanks partner organizations, volunteers, and the in particular those whose stories of displacement will be shared with the community. URC will keep updates on our website, and you can also find info at the Library's events page.
