Teachers Lean In to
At-Home Learning

Park City High teachers Ashley Mott and Matt Nagel reflect on lessons learned over eight weeks of distance learning. PCEF Emergency Express Grants have helped them improve their online teaching, make connections and plan for the future during a very tough time.
"As teachers, we are doing our best to ensure that some learning happens during these strange times because we will not let perfect be the enemy of good. Obviously it's not anything like the learning that can happen face to face." - Matt Nagel

"Students are revealing their understanding that they can no longer take free public education, teacher expertise, and the joy of learning with their peers for granted." - Ashley Mott
In our April issue, two PCSD elementary teachers talked to us about
at-home learning.
PCEF Express Grants Webinar with PCSD's Dr Amy Hunt Offers a Glimpse of the Fall
PCEF recently hosted PCSD Chief Academic Officer Amy Hunt and four PCSD teachers. Dr. Hunt gave us an inside look at how the district is planning for the future. The teachers discussed the realities of distance learning and offered simple advice on how parents can best help their students.

They also discussed the immediate impact of PCEF funded Express Grants on the district and in their teaching. You can read key takeaways here .

Treasure Mountain Junior High PE Teacher Amy Newman and Ecker Hill Middle CCA teacher Brad Gannon were determined to keep the spirit of Running with Ed (RWE) alive this year! No virus, nor the cancelation of RWE, could slow these two fearless PCSD teachers down.

They ran the entire 39 mile RWE course (6 feet apart of course!) on what was originally race day, May 16! And, they raised over $10,000 for the PCEF Express Grant Fund! WOW! Thank you Amy and Brad!
