Rasavanh's Update - August 2020
Greetings from Thailand
The month of August is Mother’s Day in Thailand. Thai people celebrate Mother’s Day on the Queen’s Birthday. The queen’s picture will be displayed throughout the whole country in schools, government offices, shops, and different places along the streets. The Thai church celebrates Mothers’ Day to pay respect to the queen for her belief in freedom of religion. The Queen has allowed the Christian churches to grow in Thailand along with her late husband. It was a blessing for my Dara to preach and share God’s Word from Proverbs 31 and the story of Naomi and Ruth at the SamYaek Church that we have partnered with.
The private Christian school we help at is now 100 percent open and we have enjoyed seeing the students every day. This school has more than 800 students and 70 teachers. Around 90 percent the students and teachers are not believers. We are currently helping with the English program with the hope of sharing the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to both teachers and students.
As of last week, Mike's visa application was accepted. The immigration officers came to our home to interview us. If everything checks out, Mike will get a three-month visa that can be extended for a year. Please continue to pray for Dara’s visa, we are hopeful that Dara will qualify for a spouse visa after I get the immigration's stamp of approval.
Ministry for us is starting to come back to a full speed again as the government begins to ease restrictions. We are keeping busy with teaching at the school and are helping two churches with Biblical teachings on Wednesdays and Sundays. Once our visa situation is settled, we plan to start an outreach ministry at the Lemkachao Church. This church sits between two of the largest Thaidam villages in this province. Please pray that God will make a way for us to get this started.
As always, we are grateful for your partnership through prayer
and financial support. We know that things are not easy back
home in the States, and we are praying for you all daily. We are
in this together globally, reaching the lost by sharing God’s hope
to the people here.
May God continue to bless you and keep you safe through Christ Jesus.

Blessings,
Mike and Dara Rasavanh
