Arizona Passes Bill to Support Locally-Grown Fruits and Vegetables

The Arizona State Legislature passed Senate Bill 1245, which allocates funds for developing and implementing a matching-fund program so SNAP recipients can get additional fresh produce from approved vendors at no additional cost to them.

Maricopa County WIC is offering Summer Lunch Buddies from June 4 to July 31. This program provides free, nutritious meals for anyone age 18 and younger--no appointment or WIC enrollment necessary.

Social Marketing Workshop: Fostering Sustainable Behavior Change

For over three decades Dr. Doug McKenzie-Mohr has been working to incorporate scientific knowledge on behavior change into the design and delivery of community programs. He is the founder of community-based social marketing and the author of three books on the topic. One of these books has been recommended by Time Magazine and become requisite reading for those who deliver programs to protect the environment, promote public health and prevent injuries.  

Introductory and advanced workshops are coming soon. These workshops will be of interest to those working to promote behavioral changes that protect the environment or foster public health and safety. Descriptions of both workshops are provided below.
