As Move United marks 70 years, we’re reflecting on the people who helped build this movement.
One of those stories is Doug Pringle’s.
In 1968, Doug had his right leg amputated below the knee after his unit engaged in a firefight in Vietnam. He was later invited to go skiing by a group of disabled WWII veterans from the 10th Mountain Division, an experience he describes as life changing. Over more than 50 years, Doug became one of the most impactful individuals in adaptive skiing and was inducted into the Adaptive Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
