Brain Tumor Awareness Month
May is also National Cancer Research Month and Brain Tumor Awareness Month — a good moment to support the organizations doing this work on the ground.
The Marc Jr. Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation is hosting an event at Lizzie's Axe Throwing on May 17th to raise funds for glioma research and financial support for affected families.
And if you'd like to give directly, the Morgan Adams Foundation accepts donations year-round to fund childhood cancer research.

The Colorado Cancer Coalition is seeking passionate leaders to help drive statewide action in cancer prevention and care!
We’re currently recruiting Chairs for the Skin Cancer Task Force - an exciting opportunity to shape Colorado’s cancer prevention and early detection efforts.
As a Task Force Chair, you’ll help guide collaboration among statewide partners, set priorities, and lead initiatives that advance the goals of the Colorado Cancer Plan. Chairs typically convene monthly / bi-monthly meetings, foster connections across sectors, and help elevate innovative ideas and community needs.

May 8 Educational Session: Living with Breast Cancer: Exercise & Lymphedema
What do women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer need to know about both exercise and lymphedema? Please join the Colorado Cancer Coalition’s Breast Cancer Task Force on Friday, May 8th, from Noon to 1 pm as we hear from two speakers:
- Emma Gomes, PhD, Founder of Project Rx, will speak about safe and effective exercise for breast cancer patients.
- Katherine Wilson, OTR, a Certified Lymphedema Therapist from CommonSpirit, will speak about lymphedema.
Whether you're working in healthcare, navigating a personal diagnosis, or supporting a loved one, this series offers practical, up-to-date insights to help you make informed choices about your care and health in Colorado.
Spanish interpretation will be provided. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the Coalition’s YouTube page for those who are unable to attend.

Upcoming Event: Cancer Survivors Day
Colorado Springs
Mark your calendars! On June 7th, the Colorado Cancer Coalition is joining partners across the region to celebrate cancer survivors at Bear Creek Regional Park East, Colorado Springs.
The event runs from 8:30 to 11:00 AM and is free for everyone to attend. Expect a walk, raffle prizes, food, and good company. Wear purple!
This year, we're making a point to reach younger survivors. If you know a teen, young adult, or child who has been touched by a cancer diagnosis, please pass this along — Survivors Day is for every age!
Survivors, caregivers, family members, providers, advocates, and community organizations are all welcome. Come out, connect with others, and take a moment to recognize how much you've been through.

Job Opening: Denver Health Mobile Unit
Denver Health is hiring for a Mobile Mammography Technologist. This position will support the mobile mammography unit.
This position will perform screening and diagnostic mammograms at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and a commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a mammography technologist. Another secondary component of this job involves assisting the radiologist in performing interventional breast procedures and breast ultrasound examinations in order to contribute to a diagnosis.
