SKY'S STORY
Sky (aka Skywalker) was spotted as a stray near Rolla before, during, and after a snowstorm. He was intact, fearful, hungry, and wouldn't let anyone get close - leaving him at serious risk of being hit by a car or freezing.
A dedicated animal advocate, Laurie, became his ally, working tirelessly to locate his owner or someone who knew him. She was soon joined by Anna, a compassionate community member, and Erin, a local animal control officer, both of whom brought critical support to the effort.
We shared his story across multiple lost-and-found pages, hoping to locate his family. Ken from Big Paw Rescue Trapping saw the post and, alongside Anna, Laurie, and a supportive landowner, was able to successfully trap Sky and bring him to safety.
Although Sky's owner was eventually located, they chose not to reclaim him. Anna stepped in to foster Sky, and CHQFPC staff member, Shayla, sponsored his veterinary care at our Rolla clinic. Sky received a full range of services to ensure his health.
Once he was fully vetted and recovered, Laurie found Sky a new, loving home with a family connection in Oklahoma. Today, Sky is thriving - enjoying plenty of pampering and safe, double-leash walks in his forever home.
