A round up of some of the many highlights from programming at Intertwine Arts, featuring our wonderful fiber artists and their work.

Wonderful Wearables

Stephanie from AHRC NYC modelling a summery yellow scarf she made on the Cricket Loom. Also from AHRC NYC, an adorable teal blue and green purse by Ernestine.

Starry Skies

Mary from VISIONS wows us again with her creative mind and attention to detail. For this project she learned how to warp the Cricket loom herself. This was a new challenge for her but one that she took in stride.

Adornment Project

This month the YAI group worked on a tote project, adorning plain tote bags with drawing and handwoven patches. This examples was made by Chris.

Something whimsical is in the air

Keona from VISIONS finished her rag doll project. Donna, also from VISIONS, finished a fruit basket - first she wove the individual fruit fabrics, and sewed them into the fruit shapes. Then she experimented with weaving a basket from scratch using twine.

Meet Kenny!

Kenny Reed from IAHD loves to show others how to weave. He helped to set up a weaving display at IAHD and proudly showed the other participants the woven works created.

He is currently interviewing people in the program about why they like to weave. Kenny is using an AAC (augmentative communication device). He is also writing his own autobiography which was inspired by president Obama's autobiography.

Kenny has been weaving with Intertwine Arts for many years, and we can't wait to read his autobiography when it is done 😊

Everette from YAI knocks it out of the park with this gorgeous pillow!

A wearable Garden

We love this shirt that was embellished with sweet flowers and woven patches, made by Tayloe at YAI

Fashionistas!

At VISIONS the artists have been more and more ambitious with their projects, now encompassing wearables such as these two gorgeous jackets by Donna and Myrna.

Intertwine Arts program artist Jimmy has a solo show! Visit his woven aliens in person at the Summertime Gallery! Open till June 13th.
