We pray for the quick reauthorization of PEPFAR. The program has saved more than 25 million lives and has been the cornerstone of global health efforts for the US since its inception in 2003. Thanks to PEPFAR, people living with HIV/AIDS have hope they may continue to live normal lives and contribute to their families, churches, and communities. We pray the faith community will be as supportive of this life-saving initiative as they were when PEPFAR was initially proposed. Cyclone Mocha in Bangladesh and Myanmar. Prayers of thanks that Cyclone Mocha did not make landfall at the refugee camp in Cox's Bazar as earlier feared. However, residents report that up to 90 percent of the western Rakhine state's capital city Sittwe has been destroyed. Pray for people in Bangladesh and Myanmar affected by the cyclone.
Flooding in Somalia. Pray for people in Somalia, as up to 200,000 people have been displaced by recent flooding.
