Celebrating Gratitude at CWRU this May
Cultivating gratitude is a powerful way to create change, strengthen relationships, and positively affect productivity and happiness at work and at home. Research has found that acts of gratitude can improve mental well-being, expand relationships, enhance overall health, increase self-esteem, empathy, and sleep quality, and reduce aggression. The benefits are significant even for relatively simple strategies.
Three ways you can join us in celebrating gratitude at CWRU this month:
1) Add to the online Gratitude Graffiti Board. Gratitude Graffiti is a practice of purposeful reflection and appreciation expressed through interactive art. All employees are encouraged to add electronic sticky notes with messages of gratitude to our shared online Gratitude Graffiti Board during the month of May.
To get started, visit the board and click on a colored sticky note icon in the top right corner and type something/someone you are grateful for, or post a photo of something/someone that fills you with gratitude. Next, choose a location for your art. The Gratitude Board goes beyond what the screen initially displays. Use the grid in the bottom right corner to navigate around and view the additions of others.
Visit this space as an opportunity for a moment of mindfulness during your workday. Return to the board throughout the month to view what others have posted, reflect, and add an additional sticky if you are feeling inspired. Enjoy the power of positive thinking and what it can do for you and those around you. We will share the art we create together with you in our June newsletter!
2) Enter to win a gratitude book. We are raffling off two copies of "Thank You Very Much: Gratitude Strategies to Create a Workplace Culture that ROCKS!" by Lisa Ryan. Enter to win by Friday, May 19.
3) View a video from the April 2019 Gratitude at CWRU event, featuring CWRU employees!
