May Art: May Day (An International Poster Exhibit) by Stephen Lewis
This month the main library welcomes an exhibit of May Day posters from the collection of Stephen Lewis. Through the month of May, Stephen Lewis will be exhibiting May Day posters at the Wakefield and Beverly public libraries, and the Lynn Museum. Visit the exhibits and appreciate the struggle of workers around the world in their effort to achieve better working conditions and benefits which some of us enjoy today and many more continue to struggle for. Lewis has a collection of 8,600 posters which he exhibits regularly around Massachusetts. He can be reached at [email protected] . The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours, when community meetings or library programs are not in progress.

These exhibits are supported in part by grants from the Beverly, Lynn and Wakefield Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and by Roofers Local 33, Asbestos Workers Local 6, IBEW Local 103, and Painters DC 35.
