The Cambridge Art Association team: Erin Becker (Norma Jean Calderwood Director); Candice Driver (Associate Director); Michelle Nie (Exhibitions Fellow); and Stephanie Todhunter (Program Manager)

Dear Erin,

This month, I'd like to take a moment to celebrate the talented team that makes the CAA's events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities possible! Without our dedicated staff - Associate Director Candice Driver; Exhibitions Fellow Michelle Nie; and Program Manager Steph Todhunter - CAA could not maintain our robust programming schedule or support our growing membership of 740+ artists. I'm so grateful to work with these amazing women.

As our team plan exhibits and events for our 80th season - beginning in September - we are excited to launch a new opportunity for artists. We are seeking proposals for the Art Wall @ Canal - 28 feet of street-facing window display space in the heart of Kendall Square! Scroll down to learn more.

You can support the work of our staff, and the opportunities we create at the CAA - including the Art Wall @ Canal - by purchasing a ticket to the Spring Art Party - CAA's only fundraising event of the year.

With gratitude, and Happy May!

"I never tire of viewing photography and its many forms. Each and every artist that submitted work to Storytime taught me something personal about themselves, or surroundings through their narrative work and accompanied statements. I left inspired, curious and wanting more. Photography has the power to introduce an audience to an unknown world; the inner workings of a restaurant, a cultural dance, a portrait of displacement.

Equally, photography has the power to be timeless and mysterious. Select images in Storytime blur the lines of past and present, reality and fiction, causing the viewer’s curiosity to fill in the wonder. Included in Storytime are artists who photograph new journeys and familiar spaces. Storytime inspires the viewer to share their own story, on their terms, through beautiful photographs." "In a time of cultural acceleration, techno-alienation, and the barrage of over-information which confronts us daily, having an inclusive space of belonging in shared artistic interest and rigorous discourse feels more crucial than ever.

The works selected for this exhibition represent an idiosyncratic curation of sorts – something about them rang familiar given this particular moment, and allowed a type of unfolding conversation between various artists and art mediums to emerge." ~ Ben Sloat
