The weather has been quite unpredictable lately, but lucky for us, we have plenty to do inside our facilities. Get ready for some extra fun this May with a Mommy & Me Playdate and a Family Movie Night in the gym!

IMPORTANT NOTICE for Facebook Followers:

On Saturday, April 22nd, our main Facebook page was unexpectedly removed. We are hopeful that this problem will be remedied soon so that we can continue to connect with our 6500+ followers. However, Y USA has informed us that this issue is not unique to the Findlay YMCA and they have been attempting to work with Facebook to resolve these types of issues since June of 2022. To mitigate the impact on communication, we are working to increase our communication efforts in-house, on our website, and through other social media channels. The Findlay YMCA - East Branch Facebook Page is now active and we plan to utilize that as well. We appreciate your patience as we work through this.

Family Movie Night

Come to the Findlay YMCA on May 12th for a family movie night featuring "The Goonies!" Bring the family and some blankets and head to the East Gym Downtown! Snacks and refreshments will be included.

Members are FREE! Nonmembers are $10 per family. Purchase your tickets at the member services desk at the Downtown Branch by May 5th!

5 Days of Action

At the Y, child protection is our number one priority year-round. During April – Child Abuse Prevention Month – we participate in a week-long campaign— Five Days of Action—to increase awareness of child sexual abuse and empower and equip our communities to prevent it. By taking part in this important campaign and through implementing abuse prevention practices year-round, we can all commit to the safety of all children in our care.

Lifeguard Certifications

Do you know someone who might be interested in lifeguarding? Lifeguard certifications will be held May 19th-21st. Fees for the certification will be reimbursed if the participant accepts employment as a lifeguard with the YMCA! Forward this email to interested persons so they can register for a spot!

Mommy & Me Playdate

On May 5th, we have a special event just for Moms and kids! Come to the Downtown Branch for a Mommy & Me Playdate. Enjoy games, swimming, a bounce house, scooters, and more from 4:30-6:30 PM. Members are FREE. Nonmember families are $5.

New to the YMCA Leadership Team

New Development Director

We are excited to announce that we have a new Development Director! Casey Brown comes to us with a passion for nonprofit work and she is already off to a great start. Feel free to stop and introduce yourself to Casey at the Downtown Branch. While you're there, ask her how you can be a part of our Grill for Good campaign this summer!

Incoming District Child Development Director

We are preparing to welcome Kari Redman as our new District Child Development Director in June! Kari has a passion for education and giving our youngest children a strong beginning. She comes with 24 years of experience and a vision to grow and sustain our Child Development sites.
