2021 Cubs Available For Adoption
Cubs born in 2021 are now up for adoption at the platinum level only. We will be featuring several cubs each month but you can always check out our platinum adoption page to see all of the available pandas up for a symbolic adoption. Questions? Please contact us at info@pandasinternational.org.

You You is the cub on the left and her mother is Xiu Qiu. She was born on September 21, 2021. The cub on the right is Xiao You and her mother is Yi Ran. Xiao You was born on September 2, 2021. SNZ Celebrates 50th Anniversary
of Giant Pandas
The Smithsonian National Zoo celebrated the 50th anniversary of giant pandas at the zoo in April. Their commissary keeper Nick Schiraldi wrote an very intriguing blog about how the cakes are made for celebrations like this one.

Dr. Wang Arrives in the USA
Dr. Wang Chengdong has been chosen by the China Scholarship Council to be a Visiting Scholar at Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Purdue’s Veterinary school is one of the top Vet Schools in the US, for comprehensive education of veterinary teams and for the discovery and engagement in selected areas of veterinary and comparative biomedical sciences.

Pandas International is pleased to announce that we will be supporting Dr. Wang’s stay in the USA to learn new skills, procedures and advanced veterinary techniques. Dr. Wang will also be doing research on diseases and vaccinations.

Dr. Wang is accompanied by his young daughter, who will be attending elementary school in the USA.
PI Visits El Morro Elementary School
Pandas International had the opportunity to visit Mrs. Wong's 2nd grade class at El Morro Elementary School in Laguna Beach. El Morro has raised over $4,500 in the past several years and has adopted a panda each year with the funds collected. This year they held a pennies 4 pandas drive and a massive cupcake sale which raised over $1,300!

PI traveled to El Morro Elementary last week to accept the donation check in person along with giving a presentation about giant pandas. PI is thankful for Mrs. Wong's love of pandas and for helping to teach her students about the importance of helping to save this magnificent species. Thank you El Morro and Mrs. Wong for the countless hours and dedication put towards raising funds for PI and the giant pandas.
Spring Auction Coming Soon
PI's spring auction will begin this Friday, May 6th! Keep an eye out for an e-mail which will be sent at the start of the auction and include a link to all the wonderful items that will raise funds for the giant pandas. The auction will run until Sunday, May 22nd at noon MST.

Take advantage of the option of automatic bidding. This allows bidders to choose the highest amount they are willing to pay for an item and the website will automatically place your bids so you don't need to be near a computer at the end of the auction.
PANDA PROTECTORS
My name is Joanna, I'm 8 years old and I live in South Carolina (USA). I love pandas. I became interested in giant pandas when my brother and I were watching Mei Mei in the Born in China film. For Christmas I received a symbolic adoption of Hua Mei and I was so excited that I borrowed all of the panda books from our local library! I've learned about red pandas, too!   As I figured out how endangered giant pandas are, I wanted to do Pennies 4 Pandas to help. In a couple of months we raised $56. I used my birthday money and friends donated when they saw my Pennies 4 Pandas bucket. Learning about pandas and animals is so much fun, I like to cut out their pictures from magazines and tape them on my wall! Overall I was able to raise a $106 for the giant pandas.
