The King of Prussia Community Stays Strong through Shut-Down
We have always known that King of Prussia’s solid foundation would help it weather difficult storms, as it has in the past. But in these unprecedented times, we have never been more proud of our community. From the generosity shown towards those in dire need, to the quick-thinking and creative business pivots made in order to better serve the community, KOP’s strength and resilience has been on full display these past few weeks.
The recent $50,000 donation to Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard by First Quality and the newly announced #RaiseYourGlass campaign from Workhorse Brewing Company to support charities and restaurant workers, are perfect examples of a community coming together despite their own struggles to lift one another up. Business model pivots, like those at Founding Farmers and Fogo de Chao, who are now offering mini grocery markets for curbside pick-up and delivery, show how restaurants are thinking creatively in order to keep their doors open. These are just a few examples of the many stories we’ve heard this month that bring light and hope to an otherwise uncertain time.

Finally, words cannot fully express our appreciation and gratitude for the front line and essential workers that are risking their own health and safety to keep our community running. As you’ll read below, we are proud to partner with Upper Merion Township for We See You, KOP , a campaign honoring KOP’s essential heroes. While we will initially celebrate our honorees virtually, we look forward to the day when we can bring everyone together to thank them in person.
King of Prussia District is proud of our community’s culture of innovation and compassion. This month, we are using this platform to share positive stories that remind us all that, despite everything, we will come out of this stronger, together.

We See You, KOP: Honoring King of Prussia's Essential Heros
King of Prussia District and Upper Merion Township are joining together to
celebrate and honor the first responders and essential workers who put the needs of others before their own to keep our community and region running during the pandemic. Each week we will share the story of one hero across our social media platforms, in our e-newsletters and on our websites.

When the time is right, we will bring together all of the heroes for a recognition ceremony where we can celebrate them in person.

KOP Companies Pivot to Better Serve Community
While there’s no denying that this pandemic has far-reaching implications for our nation’s economy, we have found ourselves inspired by the businesses in King of Prussia that have thoughtfully, creatively and swiftly responded. The word pivot is everywhere these days, but it is the perfect way to describe how these businesses have turned on a dime to remain relevant and serve the public during this unprecedented time.

KOP Businesses Adressing Pandemic Needs Through Services or Products
As we prepare for stay-at-home orders to be lifted and the phased re-entry to begin, King of Prussia District is assembling a list of KOP businesses addressing pandemic needs through services or products. Please consider shopping local when preparing your buildings and businesses during this time.
