Upcoming Program Highlights

Join us for this exciting workshop as Joan Lloyd, from Bling’s the Thing, shows us how to make lovely, beaded earrings! All supplies will be provided, so just be sure to bring your creativity!

Please note: For every pair of earrings you make to keep, you will also make a pair to be donated to a battered women’s shelter. If you have any beaded jewelry (broken or otherwise) that you don’t want/need anymore, feel free to bring it with you and Joan can use it for materials.

Drop into the library anytime between 10am-1pm to create a beautiful Mother’s Day card.  We’ll have all the materials you need to create something special. Mom will receive a wonderful surprise!

There will be a used book sale going on in the library, so maybe you can also buy Mom a present while you’re in the library? Just a suggestion!

Mrs. T promises not to tell your mom! (Or grandma, or auntie, or foster mom, or step-mom…)

Adults are invited to help with the card-making. Dress for a mess!

You know that Mrs. T. loves tea, but did you know that she also loves tacos? Let’s have a taco day!

First, we’ll read the books Duck, Duck, Taco Truck and Dragons Love Tacos. Then, we’ll decorate our own cardboard taco trucks and make our own paper tacos. We have to come up with prices for the tacos, make some posters to advertise the tacos, and maybe even write a catchy jingle!

When we’re done making the tacos, we’ll sell our fabulous fake food to the grown-ups! Don’t worry grown-ups, you will be supplied with fake money to buy the fake tacos. On a day that Arlington Schools are closed, we will be open for business!

Grown-ups are invited to stay and help with the taco-making enterprise. Please register yourself as well as your child if you will be staying for the taco day fun.

Adult caretakers must remain in the library during the entire duration of the program.

Friday, May 22nd at 12:00 p.m.

For ages 5-12.

Be sure to register here.

Join Mrs. T under the sea! We’ll build a LEGO™ coral reef complete with all sorts of coral, fish, and a turtle. We’ll learn about coral reef ecosystems and some fun fish facts as we build. The finished project will be huge and colorful! Get ready to take some photos!

Lots of free play time to build your own LEGO™ creation too!

Adult caregivers must remain in the library, but may also join in the building fun. If you plan to play, please register yourself as well as your child.

All levels of builders are supported and encouraged.
