Webster Neighbor:
Last month, I joined the Webster Highway Department, Webster Town Board members, Town staff, local elected officials, and other community members to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for the new Highway Facility. This occasion was long anticipated since initial conversations about the project in 2021 and the construction that began in late 2023.
So frequently I stress the significance of public service and how important it is that Town government make intentional decisions with Webster taxpayers in mind and the Highway Facility is no exception. This facility has been built with the future in mind and will ensure that the necessary and enhanced services that the Highway Department offers will continue at a high level for decades to come.
As part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, I was honored to reveal that the new facility will be named, the "Barry A. Deane Highway Facility," in honor of former Highway Superintendent and Town Councilman Barry Deane. Throughout his service, Barry was a strong advocate for an upgraded Highway Facility to assist in delivering necessary services to the Webster community. For me, Barry has been a colleague, a mentor, and a dear friend. He is a consummate professional and I truly feel blessed to have his influence in my life.
This new facility was built with our growing Town in mind, and I am proud to share our Town's milestones with our community. As always, please feel free to contact me by email or by calling 585-872-7068.
Sincerely,
Tom Flaherty, Webster Town Supervisor
