In honor of ALS Awareness Month, we'll be sharing news weekly during May about the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS efforts to accelerate a cure for ALS.
OFFERING HOPE TO MORE INDIVIDUALS WITH ALS
The Healey Center offers Expanded Access Programs (EAPs) to provide access to experimental treatments for people with ALS who are ineligible for clinical trial participation. Our EAP program includes 9 active protocols and over 100 participants. Our patients say they gain a sense of purpose and meaning from the opportunity to contribute as research participants. We partner with pharmaceutical companies to provide the drugs, and philanthropy covers the costs of enrolling and monitoring participants and analyzing any results. With the support of philanthropy, we are expanding this program to more centers nationwide to include access to experimental treatments currently tested as part of the HEALEY ALS Platform Trial. Learn more about our EAP program.

"Being part of the EAP has been wonderful, mainly because I know I am helping advance the field toward an effective treatment for ALS"

THANK YOU TO OUR RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS AND SUPPORTERS
Your partnership in research is what keeps us filled with passion, dedication, and the commitment to uncover new promising treatments for ALS. Every research participant, whether on the active drug or placebo, plays a critical role in making the hope of finding a cure for ALS a reality.

Thank you to Bruce Rosenblum, a Healey Center EAP participant, who shares what the EAP experience has meant for him in the video below, while Merit Cudkowicz, MD, MSc, Director of the Healey Center for ALS, shares her vision for the EAP Program.
