Locally Grown Herbal Teas as Food and Medicine

Hamakua Harvest Festival
Food Fun, Arts, Hula and Music
Sunday, May 19th in Honoka'a
9am-3pm

 Learn and Earn  
There are many great short classes and workshops hosted at the Festival that all earn points through teh Same Canoe Passports: soil building, GIY nutritious food, biochar, kalo/taro, awa, and seed saving. Program starts at 9:30 and runs to 3 so choose a class - or two! All classes are free. Pick up your Passport at our booth and start earning points towards fun local food drawings.

 

 


 
 North Kohala:
Spice it Up!
Monday, May 20th, 6:30-7:30 at the
North Kohala Public Library in Kapa'au

Circle presentation on culinary and medicinal spices is 6:30-7:30 and includes take-home samples.
Discover culinary and medicinal uses for spices grown in Hawaii. Get your Passport and be entered in cookbook drawings.



Kona:
Spirulina Superfoods Tour
Thursday, May 30th, 8:45-10am


Join us in exploring locally grown spirulina at the Cyanotech facility at NELHA in Kona.  FREE event plus get Spirulina discount coupons.

Localicious Farm Tour and Chef Event


June 2nd is a fun farm tour that includes market garden and traditional polynesian foods at two farms in North Kohala, followed by a sample pupu plate prepared by Chef Bellec from the Four Seasons Hotel.



Star Seed Ranch  is our final destination and the beautiful estate is well worth the visit!

Enjoy the full circle of farmer to chef to dining experience. Tours led by HIP Ag in conjunction with Star Seed Ranch and One Island. Proceeds benefit HIP Ag education programs.

RSVP required and directions will be sent to those who RSVP. Event starts at 10:45am and concludes by 1:30.

Space is limited so 
RSVP now.



Guests are $20 a person ($35 couple) to attend the tour. Kids are free with adult guide.
