Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC) is California’s largest Muslim civic engagement event. It provides an opportunity for participants to:

  • Speak with assembly members and state senators
  • Discuss issues impacting them and their communities
  • Attend town halls
  • Participate in political advocacy

In 2024, over 800 community members throughout California gathered at the Capitol, where they played a pivotal role in influencing policies that affect all Californians.

MDAC attendees lobbied for progressive policies that support justice and equality, including exemption from physical education for fasting, including a “Middle Eastern or North African” category on the demographic list, and condemning Islamophobia and Palestinian hate.

MAS-SSF is encouraging you to attend to help empower our community!

Presented by Keynote Speaker Mark Ostach

Each year, Mental Health Matters Day brings us together to raise awareness, honor community voices, and amplify the movement to end stigma. Speaking up about mental health isn’t just brave—it’s transformative. And when we speak up together, we are unstoppable.

Let’s come together to celebrate community, raise our voices, and make mental health matter—because your story, your presence, and your voice make a difference.

Together, We Speak Up for Change!

We're Actively Recruiting Youth Volunteers

for the Amala Youth Hopeline

  • You’ll receive free, appropriate training to provide peer support and become a para-professional counselor. Volunteer position requiring limited weekly hours, offering a small stipend.
  • We operate 100% virtually and are seeking volunteer phone counselors to work a few nights a week. The Hopeline’s working hours are 6pm-10pm every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 855-95-AMALA (26252).
  • With this training, you’ll join the growing peer support movement and be able to help your Muslim brothers and sisters one-on-one.
  • This is a valuable opportunity for individuals ages 21+ who want a chance to explore the fields of social services, human services, the mental health field, or social work.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages (Dari, Pashto, Urdu) is helpful but not required.
