Mulching, Tree Trimming Helps Wildfire Mitigation

The last few years, wildfire mitigation has become a top priority in our industry. We are working hard to combat the threat of wildfires in Columbia County.

We are methodically mulching underneath and around power lines throughout our service area. We are mulching as much as possible, primarily in wooded areas outside of city limits.

Tree trimming is another major component of our vegetation management strategy. If you have hazardous trees on your property, please let us know.

We Are Continuing to Replace Meters

As part of our continued effort to improve operational efficiency and to improve outage awareness and response, we will be replacing your electric meter.

We are in the third year of a five-year project to systematically replace all of the electric meters in our service territory. When we replace your meter, we will need to briefly shut off your power.

The new meters look and function in much of the same way as your current meter does.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our service and reliability.

Heat Pumps Can Also Keep You Cool

You can keep your home comfortable all year long with a heat pump. Even though they're called heat pumps, these systems also provide cooling during the warmer months.

Heat pumps distribute cool air quietly and evenly, making your home more comfortable.

We offer rebates for the installation of ducted central system heat pumps and for ductless systems. To qualify, you must heat your home with electricity.

Help Keep Kids Safe Around Electricity

May is National Electrical Safety Month, and we'd like to ask you to talk with your kids about the dangers of electricity.

Please remind kids to always stay away from downed power lines, and to stay away from other electrical equipment like substations, transformer boxes, and utility poles.
