With the world opening up, people are really excited to see some live entertainment and have fun for a change.
Some people wind up being overcharged by scalpers or even sold non-existent seats by scammers. That's no fun at all.
Make sure you let your patrons know who are the only authorized sellers. It could be solely your organization, or also a promoter, etc.
We like what one of our clients,
Covey Center for the Arts, did to protect their patrons. They put the following on their website. Maybe this will inspire you, too.
Covey Center for the Arts Is the Only Authorized Ticket Seller for Covey Center Events. In the coming months, several highly anticipated events are coming to the Covey Center. Tickets are in high demand and ticket resellers are working hard to take your money.
Before you buy a ticket, be sure you are buying from coveycenter.org. No other seller is authorized to sell tickets for this venue.
Ticket resellers are taking advantage of ticket buyers because Utah has no laws prohibiting reselling or scalping. Ticket resellers often gouge unsuspecting buyers by selling tickets at well over the face value or selling tickets to non-existent seats. On occasion, we have seen resellers duplicate tickets and sell two tickets for one seat.
Here’s how to ensure you are buying authorized tickets:
In Person: Buy your tickets at the Covey Center ticket office.
Online: If you purchase tickets online, be sure you confirm that you are on the right website – coveycenter.org. Buy tickets online at coveycenter.org
By Phone: Call 801-852-7007 and talk to our ticket sellers.
