Safe & secure: New fraud prevention tool |

We are excited to introduce a new fraud prevention tool, ACH Name Match. If you are a Hyperion ACH customer, we’ll be in touch about this directly.
ACH Name Match software enables review of ACH transactions to prevent unauthorized debits and credits from successfully posting to accounts. The software prevents such unauthorized transactions by matching the customer name on the transaction to the customer name on the account. It also enables us to review and verify ACH transactions with customers, if needed, up to 24 hours prior to the posting date.
ACH Name Match is a great way to ensure that only vendors you authorize to debit your account in your name will be paid. We live in challenging times, and our focus as we navigate these times is to keep your account and your money safe and secure.
We want to make sure all customers have ample time to review their account histories for ACH transactions (and ensure that these transactions come to the bank in the name of an owner on the account). Effective June 1, 2023, ACH Name Match will be fully implemented, so ACH vendors submitting items for payment after that time without the correct account/name ownership will have their items returned.

Over the next few months, we’ll be upgrading Remote Deposit Capture to an improved platform. As with any such upgrade, we’ll need the assistance of Hyperion RDC customers to ensure it is as seamless as possible as we roll out a new remote deposit portal.

Q1 Report to shareholders: Strong growth

In its Q1 Report to Shareholders, Hyperion Bancshares, Inc., Hyperion Bank’s holding company, enumerated strong growth.
“It certainly was not a dull first quarter in our industry,” says the bank’s CEO and Chairman Charlie Crawford, “and we were fortunate to be able to offer a new banking-partner option to several folks whose banking relationships were in flux due to the turmoil that took place. Along with new customers, we also added five great people to our team.”
Charlie notes that he continues to see strong demand from new and existing customers for Hyperion’s community banking and mortgage services in both the Philadelphia and Atlanta markets.
“We achieved exceptional loan growth which increased by 34% year over year,” he says. “Our deposit growth was even stronger, increasing by 46% since the first quarter of 2022. These and other factors all contributed to our revenues increasing by 59% compared to the same period a year ago. Especially during recent banking tumult, the security that comes with smaller banks like ours was and continues to be affirmed.”
The 16-year-old bank expanded to the Atlanta market in 2019 and in 2020 launched joint venture Hyperion Mortgage*, which now does business in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee.
