The Essentials of Crisis Intervention
for Educators
July 15 - 19, 2019
137 South Main Street, Suite 300
Akron, Ohio 44308

In today’s world, our community is asking a lot of educators. At Victim Assistance Program, we understand that educators and school staff play a crucial role in our children's lives and we want to do all we can to support them. This summer, Victim Assistance Program, through our Summit Victim Assistance Academy (SVAA), will host The Essentials of Crisis Intervention for Educators.

The Essentials for Educators provides teachers and other school personnel with knowledge and practice of the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) model of crisis intervention. Participants who complete this 40 hour course will become equipped to use NOVA’s crisis intervention model to assist students, parents and co-workers impacted by victimization or traumatic events. This hybrid learning course requires both in person and online participation.

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, use the code “Teachers” to receive a 20% discount on the course, now through May 17, 2019! Offer expires at midnight.

Two Days in May
May 20 - 21, 2019
Two Days in May is an annual training event, sponsored by the Ohio Attorney General's Office, where victim advocates from around the state receive updates about best practices, trends, and developments in the field. Advocates will also network with colleagues and attend a ceremony to honor those who are doing exceptional work. We are proud to send representatives from Victim Assistance Program to participate in this and other professional development opportunities across the country.
