Welcome to our May newsletter.

This month, all eyes are turned towards the Venice Biennale Arte 2019 where we are honoured to be presenting two monumental sculptures by JRFA artist Masoud Akhanvanjam in the Giardini della Marinaressa from 11th May to 24th November 2019 . We hope you will have the opportunity to see the works.

Back in London we are looking forward to Photo London and to discovering new Middle Eastern talents and we are also enormously pleased to be supporting Caspia Contemporary Gallery who are showing 'Contemporary Art From Azerbaijan Journey of the Soul' at Asia House from 21st to 25th May 2019.

In this month's Art Matters section we look at the links between humour and art and finally why not get inspired by watching Osama Rai's film on the French artist Alphone Etienne Dinet's depiction of the Orient.

With all best wishes from all at JRFA

VISCERA is the first photo-book by British-Iranian artist Cyrus Mahboubian . Featuring 37 black-and-white polaroid photographs that echo with ideas of time, the natural world and mortality, it is a hardback limited-edition of 250 copies.

The first monograph on Iraqi artist Hayv Kahraman surveys her figurative work, which mines the marginal space that pertains to diasporic peoples, collective and personal memory, and gender.
