  • and more!

Apply To Become
a ProjectConnect Facilitator!
Want to help reduce loneliness and build community on campus? We are currently recruiting ProjectConnect facilitators for the fall 2021 semester.

ProjectConnect facilitators co-lead small groups that meet for 6 weeks. At each meeting, the facilitators lead the group through a simple curriculum of discussion questions and activities designed to build closeness over time. Benefits of becoming a ProjectConnect facilitator are:
  • You can help your peers meet new people and build meaningful social connections on campus.
  • You will create connections between a diverse group of strangers - or bring people together who share an identity or common interest.
  • You will gain leadership and group facilitation skills.
  • You will join a passionate and fun group of volunteers!

Feedback you have?
What do you like about the HAWP newsletter? What do you think we can improve upon? What are some topics that you want us to cover? Sharing your feedback will help make this newsletter more valuable to you and the Brandeis community!

This survey is anonymous and should take approximately 2 minutes to complete. Participants can enter to win a Star Wars Squishmallow!

Take the survey, and May the Fourth Be With You!

Brandeis COVID-19 Vaccine
Many Brandeis students have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine through the Brandeis Vaccination Clinic.

For those who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, including those off-campus, do not forget to get your 2nd dose! And make sure to bring your vaccination card and keep it after getting your 2nd dose!

It is recommended that you get your 2nd dose from the same organization and at the same place you received your 1st dose.
Brandeis is also offering a clinic tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5th, for the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Travel & Airport Safety
The semester is winding down, which means many students are headed back home and may be traveling more. When traveling, it is important that we continue following COVID-19 safety protocols. There are risks related to COVID-19 when flying and being in an airport, so make sure you are as safe as you can be. If possible, check in online or at a kiosk, eat or drink before going to the airport, and avoid large crowds. Try to be as contactless as possible at the airport.

For more guidance on how to travel safely, visit the CDC website.
Sun Safety
It is getting warmer outside! With the sun coming out more and spending more time outside comes risks of UV damage.

To enjoy the sun, while minimizing your risk for UV damage and skin cancer:
  • Seek out shade and minimize time in direct sunlight whenever possible
  • Apply about 1 oz of sunscreen of at least SPF 15 even if it doesn’t look too sunny or hot. (And reapply!)
  • Wear protective clothing like long sleeves, hats, and sunglasses.

Get outside and enjoy the summer warmth!
