Dear Friend of DKT,
We hope this newsletter finds you and your family safe and well.
At this unprecedented time of Covid-19, there are serious challenges to ensuring the manufacturing, shipping, distribution, and general availability of contraceptives. Nevertheless, DKT is fully committed to continuing our work and mission. We are doing everything we can and pulling out all the stops to help women and men obtain their contraceptive of choice or access a safe abortion if so desired. We also are working closely with pharmacists and health providers around the world to keep their doors open so they can provide the services that women need.
Couples who have their contraceptive needs met have greater choices, increased socioeconomic mobility, and better health outcomes overall. By providing safe and quality methods of contraception and safe abortion products, DKT takes pressure off of the healthcare systems of the countries where we work, allowing women to protect their own sexual and reproductive health despite the challenges of Covid-19.
In our May newsletter, we share examples of how DKT teams continue to provide essential services despite the challenges faced. We are proud of their courage and hard work. We also share
a recent article
that highlights DKT’s evolution to increase sustainability over the last twenty years.
Best,
Chris Purdy
