May 2023 Newsletter
Greetings!

May is Electrical Safety Month. At LPEA, safety is our top priority, and our primary goal is to minimize electrical accidents. Check out the electric safety article below to learn how to stay safe when an electrical line is down, tips for safe digging, and how to safely use indoor electrical appliances and equipment. Together we can keep our community safe and powered up!

You should have already received your ballot and the ballot insert. We strongly encourage all our members to stay informed and obtain the facts regarding the proposed bylaw amendment and facts about LPEA in the LPEA Fact Checker. In addition to the bylaw amendment, members in District 4 (North & East La Plata County) will vote for their director. LPEA does not endorse any individual candidate.

Here are the ways you can vote:
  • Mail your ballot by May 30, 2023.
  • Drop off your ballot at the locations listed in the ballot packet, including the LPEA Durango and Pagosa offices, by June 7 at 4 p.m.
  • Vote in person at the upcoming annual meeting

We invite you to attend our annual meeting virtually or in person on Thursday, June 8, at 5 p.m. Registration is open for our virtual meeting here. In-person registration begins at 4 p.m. LPEA staff will present 2022 accomplishments during the meeting, award the LPEA scholarship recipients, and announce the election results.

Your voice matters, and we want to ensure you have all the necessary information to participate in the LPEA elections. Remember to get the facts and vote!
